Schmidt! I've been stung!!
The fantastic infographic and data above by Michelle Enemark from Atlas Obscura has been sourced from an entomologist named Justin O. Schmidt.
Schmidt, referred to as "The king of stings" has been stung over 1000 times. He began collecting pain scale data from ants, bees, and wasps back in 1973. Since then he has rated over 70 species, including the infamous Bullet Ant.
