Myrmecia piliventris, our newest queen

Thats right, we've been lucky enough to find ourselves a Myrmecia piliventris. ESTELLE was found last week and she's already laid 6 new eggs. She's aggressively guarding them in the photo above.

Very similar to Myrmecia fulvipes these ants are quite shy and are easily startled. 

We'll let you guys know how she progresses.
